It'll be my little retreat with posters and lots of books, etc. Bedroom 2 will be Amanda's craft room as she just called it right now, so it's up to her what she wants to do with it...

And we'll have space for visiting family and "cousin camps"
and what not.Scott H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10634038003127128024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9073355551934594311.post-71741548758568027572009-07-11T14:45:26.097-07:002009-07-11T14:45:26.097-07:00Congratulations!! You know, to hold you over and keep you from wanting your own. I was just curious about the linen closets because they seemed like a weird entry into the master bedroom. But you could probably turn them into something cute... and smart about the desk because you can always just put a desk there if you want. It's smart to pick the upgrades that would be hard or expensive to change later (i.e. countertops). And whatever you do, don't pick a light colored carpet!! Go as dark as you can pick or stand... trust me, it can hide a lot! And if they have the choice, I LOVE my solid surface bathroom counters with the built in sink because it's SOO much easier to clean, no edges to collect gunk! And you should definitely come visit the end of July, I'll even make you a birthday cake!Heidi Maloyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09793890058616340879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9073355551934594311.post-4108136974302224682009-07-05T21:56:14.586-07:002009-07-05T21:56:14.586-07:00congrats you two. i must say i am a tad jealous r...congrats you two. i must say i am a tad jealous right now. oh, the floor plan looks great!Risa Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09004074323730089034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9073355551934594311.post-39965519180455481102009-07-05T17:57:02.758-07:002009-07-05T17:57:02.758-07:00Time line is as follows: Yesterday we put in the e...Time line is as follows: Yesterday we put in the earnest deposit to reserve the lot. We have been pre-qualified and all that. (This is when the builder released the "pink slip's" with the initial pricing)
-This weekend is when the "yellow slips" come out, which means they will be writing up contracts and what not to start the buying process
-Once the contract and buying process is started, then we start picking out colors and designs and upgrades (we already have an idea of what we want, with an estimated price, but if we need any input we'll be sure to ask:))
-The estimated move-in date for us is January, but it could be sooner (so I'll know if I have the full-time job by then or not)

The optional Linen Rooms going into the Master bedroom are cabinets that go below the windows that act as the linen closet. We will be getting the longer one outside the master bedroom, but the smaller one in the master bedroom, we will probably not get and just put something else there.

We also want to get the optional sink in the laundry and will not be getting the desk in the landing there. We'll get a darker stain on the cabinets, black appliances, granite counter tops, and a stainless steel sink.

We will probably have a lot of need of deco ideas and I know that Heidi has done a TON of stuff to decorate your house, so we'll have to get input from ya.

Also, we are trying to plan a Utah trip at the end of July so we're hoping to be up there the last couple days of July.

Love ya, love ya. Thanks for the shared excitement!Scott H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10634038003127128024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9073355551934594311.post-8296394558146700742009-07-05T15:25:20.253-07:002009-07-05T15:25:20.253-07:00Wow!! There is something so fun about picking all your colors and upgrades... and knowing that you are not inheriting anyone else's dirt! ;) I won't claim to know everything but if you need any advice or thoughts about upgrades, etc... I've picked our two houses, and helped with most of Sonny and Patty's... so I've learned some things over the years ;) and can share as much info as you want... The floor plan looks nice, what are those optional linen rooms going into the master bedroom?? And the master bath looks NICE! Definitely something you can live with and grow into for awhile, and you will love having your own yard. Now, all you have to do is keep saving for the house, and resist buying all the fun stuff to make it cute... oh, and make sure you land your permanent job ;) I'm so proud of you guys and love you lot's... Can't wait to see the progress and then the real thing... I'm so excited for you guys- buying your first house is really scary but so fun, and exciting! Love ya... Love ya!Heidi Maloyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09793890058616340879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9073355551934594311.post-43352753956701404472009-07-05T14:54:23.772-07:002009-07-05T14:54:23.772-07:00Well, it will be $244,990 and if we use their lend...Well, it will be $244,990 and if we use their lender then they give us $15,000 incentives to use towards closing costs and upgrades.

That's $4,000 cheaper than the last phase, and way cheaper than the first phase 1.5-2 years ago. Amanda has a coworker who bought the same plan from the first phase and she paid $375,000.Scott H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10634038003127128024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9073355551934594311.post-68202332233495843252009-07-05T07:50:54.594-07:002009-07-05T07:50:54.594-07:00AWESOME!!!!

That looks like a nice house.

You forgot to mention the price. I am curious what a nice house like that in Fontana would cost.

I am very excited for you.

The best part is it is big enough to expand your family into... *HINT HINT*Christopher Maloyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18376442840441510276noreply@blogger.com
